Thank God for Musicians and Comedians: Were it not for them, America may have been lost

It began with the amazing Dixie Chicks, during a concert in London in 2003 when these brave women let it be known that they as Americans did NOT agree with George W. Bush`s decision to start a war in Iraq by telling the audience that they were `ashamed the President is from Texas.` These women were utterly villified for daring to believe in Americas most revered right. Freedom of speech.

It continued in 2004 when the band Green Day released its now classic rock opera, American Idiot, one of the most inspiring, smart and popular political releases in history:

Stephen Colbert (Comedy Central, The Colber Report) blew the world away and exhibited uncommon bravery in May 2006 when he mercilessly ROASTED then-President George W. Bush (from ten feet away) at the Annual White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington DC. If you havent seen the video in a while, I urge you to take the time to watch it again. Though it takes some minutes to warm up, it eventually achieves the surgical evisceration of BushCo. This magnificent piece of work is almost three years old now.

And we are brought home by Jon Stewart (Comedy Central, The Daily Show) taking on the criminal behavior by so-called financial media and journalists. The below series of videos are incredible and not to be missed. If you have not seen them in chronological order, you should take the time:
